Artifacts and Upgrades

The answers describe Universal Fragments, where they come from, and artifact upgrades with their permanent bonuses.

Universal Fragments and Artifact Upgrades

Universal Fragments are used to advance permanent artifacts. They are not a resource that can be transported on missions or used for traditional trade between players.

Universal Fragments are inventory items. They can come from several sources depending on active systems, including the shop, missions, exploration, or certain bonuses.

Each upgrade consumes Universal Fragments. An artifact cannot exceed level 10.

Example

If you have enough Universal Fragments, you can choose an artifact and start upgrading it. Its level then increases by +1, and its bonus becomes stronger.

Artifact Bonus Specialties

Artifacts give permanent bonuses linked to a specialty.

Depending on the artifact, the bonus can affect:

  • attack, hull, or shields;
  • explorations, fleet speed, or fuel;
  • Pillars, consumption of Weave Resonators, or cargo capacity;
  • buildings, production, or research;
  • the colony limit.

As an artifact's level increases, its bonus grows, up to the maximum level.
