Points and Rankings

Points measure the investments counted toward your empire's total. The rules distinguish operational units, temporarily excluded items, Astrium, and units sent on missions.

Point Calculation

Points measure the value invested in your empire: 1 000 resources invested = 1 point.

The Soldier follows a specific economic valuation of 7 Iron: 1 000 soldiers = 7 points. For the list of investments included in the calculation, see Counted items.

Counted Items and Exclusions

The calculation includes the following categories:

  • buildings;
  • technologies;
  • active land units;
  • operational ships;
  • components;
  • specialized devices;
  • defenses.

Buildings and technologies use their cumulative cost up to the level reached.

Long-term investments count, except for damaged ships and seriously wounded units that are temporarily unavailable. These units do not count while returning, waiting, or receiving treatment and repairs. After reactivation, each unit regains its normal point value; the cost paid to recover it does not generate any additional points.

Astrium and Points

Astrium is a special global resource and does not count toward the point calculation, which is based on the value in Iron, Crystal, and Aether (see Point calculation).

Units Sent on Missions

Operational ships, devices, components, and active populations sent on missions remain counted during the journey, for both players and Errants.

Crew aboard ships are removed from the point tally during flight, then count again upon their return to a planet. Damaged hulls and seriously wounded units remain excluded during their return from combat, until repaired or healed (see also Counted items).
