Activation and resolution

Hacking allows Naël Soryn to infiltrate the Interstellar Sensors network of a player or an Errant. From Operations → Pillars → Hacking, select the target planet.

The operation lasts 30 minutes, occupies Naël, and uses the usual cost of travel through the Pillars. It requires no troops and cannot be canceled. At the end of the operation, Naël receives the experience provided for in the hero progression rules, even if no movement is observed.

Report contents and precision

The report shows the space movements visible in the target empire's Sensors, including third-party movements detected by those Sensors. It is a snapshot at the time of observation: the information remains fixed and does not track fleets in real time.

For player fleets, the report always gives a category: less than 2 hours, less than 4 hours, less than 6 hours, less than 8 hours, or 8 hours or more. No exact arrival time is revealed. A human player's movement remains in these categories even when observed through an Errant's Sensors.

Accessories

Accessories equipped at launch can refine the intelligence gathered. The hero accessory catalog describes the known fleet compositions revealed by the Spectral Decoder, the time bands for Errants provided by the Trajectory Synchronizer, and an example of a level V reading.

Alerts and quota

The target receives a message as soon as the Pillars are activated. If the hack is identified, they receive a hacking alert; otherwise, they receive a counter-espionage report. Naël's level affects his stealth against the opposing hero. Detection alerts the defender but does not cause the mission to fail.

You can launch one hack per day against the same player, across all their planets. This counter is separate from the attack quota and follows its UTC calendar. An attack truce blocks hacking, but hacking neither triggers nor extends its cycle.

The universe-wide truce is separate from this individual cycle: while it is active, it blocks new hacks between two distinct human players. It affects neither the quota, operations already accepted, nor hacks targeting an Errant; see protections that block an attack.

The daily quota does not apply to Errants. Naël must nevertheless be available for each new operation.
