Getting Your Empire Off to a Good Start

Guidance on early empire development, ship creation, and galactic catch-up.

Laying the Foundations of Your Empire

Aleryos is a massively multiplayer online strategy game. You play as an emperor who develops your empire, planets, economy, technology, and military power.

On Aleryos, your goal is to make your empire prosper. You start with a main planet, then gradually develop your buildings, research, resources, and military capabilities.

To get off to a good start, focus first on the resource production buildings on your main planet: Iron Mine, Crystal Extractor, and Aether Synthesizer. They increase your production and help you unlock the Research Center faster, followed by specialized buildings such as the Barracks, Training Center, and Shipyard.

This economic and technological foundation then lets you quickly prepare for your first colonization efforts.

Colonizing early is important because each new planet greatly increases your development potential. The more planets you own, the more infrastructure you can build and resources you can produce, and the faster your empire can grow.

Remember to join an alliance early, too. Alliances provide significant bonuses, especially technology bonuses. They also let you interact with other players, coordinate your actions, and compete with other communities in the game.

Your progress therefore rests on several core areas:

  • develop your main planet;
  • strengthen your Iron, Crystal, and Aether production;
  • unlock your first research, military, and space buildings;
  • colonize new planets;
  • join an alliance;
  • advance your technologies;
  • gradually unlock the Shipyard, ground units, specialized devices, and defenses.

Depending on your playstyle, you can then take your empire in different directions. You can attack other players with your fleet, launch ground attacks through the Pillars, spy, trade, take part in PvP actions, or focus more on PvE.

In the long term, you are an expanding emperor. And if you progress far enough, you may one day become a Monarch.

Creating a Ship: From Model to Assembly

First, create a model in the Shipyard, then build or assemble your ships from the Assembly tab, either by building them directly or assembling them from components you have already produced.

You can customize your models to compose fleets suited to your goals. A model’s composition explains how to choose a hull, component families, and hangars; cargo capacity calculation explains the resulting capacity; design and activation limits detail the constraints and the role of the Infrastructure technology. Production methods are described in Shipyard construction and assembly. To load devices before departure, see mission loading.

Understanding Galactic Catch-Up

When enabled in a universe, galactic catch-up helps lagging empires progress faster through cost and duration reductions.

It is not a free resource stockpile or retroactive production catch-up.

The game compares your empire with a benchmark calculated from the average total points of the 10 highest-scoring eligible human players in the universe. If your score is below 60% of that benchmark, a progressive bonus may apply.

As your empire progresses and approaches the threshold, the bonus decreases. Once the threshold is reached, catch-up pauses as long as your empire remains above that limit.

Galactic catch-up can also increase the amount of debris you obtain by fighting Errants.

The bonus can reduce:

  • building cost and duration;
  • research cost and duration;
  • the cost and duration of ships, defenses, ground units, components, and specialized devices.

The maximum effect is a -55% cost reduction and a -40% duration reduction for buildings. Research receives 80% of that effect. For units, the maximum is a -35% cost reduction and a -20% duration reduction.

The bonus does not affect production, energy, or fleet speed. A batch already in progress keeps its duration; queued batches take catch-up into account when they start.

Example

If you join an already advanced universe, your first buildings and research may cost less and finish faster. However, you do not automatically receive the resources you would have produced before arriving.
