Aleryos is free to play, and Astrium is its only paid currency: it buys convenience packs, items, and cosmetics, all shown before purchase. In the shop, every purchase grants the item shown, with no paid random chest or loot box. You can also earn Astrium by playing.
What is Astrium?

Astrium is a global currency tied to your account. It cannot be carried by a fleet, looted, traded between players, or counted toward leaderboard points. Your home planet starts with 500 Astrium.
It is used in the shop and for a few in-game actions, such as changing factions after the first change, which is free.

The shop also displays a Code section when a gift code is active. The Planetary Teleporter is not sold there; it is obtained through rewards.
What you see before buying
Every Astrium purchase in the shop gives you exactly the item displayed: before you confirm, the game shows the item, its Astrium cost, and its main effects. No shop purchase relies on a hidden probability, a paid random chest, or a paid loot box. The terms and conditions state this explicitly. The Federation's Smuggler is a service separate from the shop.
Astrium is purchased through a secure external payment and credited only after confirmation. If an item's cost changes between display and confirmation, the purchase is rejected instead of charging a different amount.
Direct purchases of 24-hour Resource Chests, Pillars Iris, and Universal Fragments share a monthly cap per account, per universe, and per UTC month. The Monarch and Emperor packs, as well as Empire's Rise chests, are excluded from this cap.
Packs, free at the start
When you create your account, the Monarch and Emperor packs are active for 5 days at no cost. This gives you time to try what they change at your own pace. Reward tokens lasting 3 days can also activate or extend them.
Pack daily rewards must be claimed manually: a day without logging in is not credited.
What stays free
You can play the core game without Astrium: buildings, research, fleets, Pillars, colonies, factions, and alliances. Several reward sources are open to everyone:

Echoes are never purchased with real money. They pay for the Echo Shop, Federation trades, and faction skills, which are at the heart of your progression. The faction guide explains them in detail.
If you're coming from OGame
In OGame, Dark Matter is used, among other things, to pay for officers and call the Merchant. In Aleryos, Astrium plays a similar role with the Monarch and Emperor packs, but the Merchant is replaced by the Federation market, which costs resources and Echoes when enabled in the universe. No paid random draw takes place in the shop.
